Role: Pre-Employment Job Developer
Get to know Pamella:
What is your role at CKJobs, and what does a typical day look like for you?
I am currently in the Pre-Job Developer role where I support clients in achieving sustainable employment by providing individualized guidance and job search support. I work closely with clients to understand their skills, barriers and career goals, and then develop tailored action plan to help them succeed. I assist them in resume building, interview techniques and job search strategies, while following up on their progress, provide coaching and address any employment barriers. Additionally, I complete case notes, track client outcomes and ensure all services are align with program guidelines. Overall, my day is focused on helping clients move closer to employment.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is helping clients move forward in their lives. Supporting clients as they build confidence, overcome barriers and secure employment is very rewarding to me. I appreciate the dynamic nature of the role. Every day is different, and I’m constantly learning, problem solving and finding new ways to support clients in achieving their goals.
What’s something unique about you that most people don’t know?
Something unique about me is that I am very observant when it comes to people. I naturally pick up on small details like changes in tone or body language. Most people don’t notice it, but it really helps me in my work because I can better understand clients needs, especially when they are not expressing everything directly.

What advice would you give to someone looking for a job in Chatham-Kent?
The advice I would give to someone looking for a job in Chatham-kent is to take a targeted and proactive approach. I would encourage them to clearly identify their skills, strengths and type of work they are seeking so they can focus their job search effectively. I would also emphasize the importance of tailoring their resume and cover letter to each position rather than a generic application. I would advise clients to be open-minded and sometimes to start with an entry level and grow in the organization.
