Cabinetmakers work with wood and other materials to make furniture, cabinetry, architectural millwork, and decorative items. They use traditional hand tools such as chisels and mallets, as well as modern electronic and even computerized woodworking equipment. Cabinetmakers must learn how to properly set up and operate woodworking machines, read blueprints, match materials for colour, grain, or texture, and glue, fit, and clamp wood pieces together.
